We have taken Meat Loaf to the next level. Meat Loaf with Dew Chilli and our home-made Cheese Sauce makes what we are calling the Dew Chilli Smothered Meat Loaf dish.
So as the man in the chef hat is saying. Let's Get Cooking!
HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL NEED :)
One Large onion, finely chopped. I like to use sweet onions in most of my recipes.
One Half cup of seasoned bread crumbs.
One small green pepper, chopped.
Two large eggs, lightly beaten
Two tablespoons spice brown mustard
Three to 4 garlic cloves, minced.
Three Quarter teaspoon salt
One Quarter teaspoon dried oregano
One Quarter dried basil
Two Pounds lean ground beef ( 90% Lean)
11. Dew Chilli. I suggest getting a Brick in a Can. Use what you need and freeze the rest.
12. Dew Chilli Cheeses Sauce. I suggest a quart. You can use for other dishes then. Yummy!
Cut four 20x3-In. strips of heavy-duty foil; crisscross so they resemble spokes of a wheel. Place strips on bottom and up sides of a 5-qt. slow cooker. Coat strips with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine the first 10 ingredients. Add beef; mix lightly but thoroughly. Shape into a 9in. round loaf. Place loaf in center of strips in slow cooker.
Cook, covered, on low 3-4 hours or until a thermometer reads at least 160-degrees. If desired spoon additional Dew Chilli over meat loaf; let stand 10 minutes. Using foils strips as handles, remove meat loaf to a platter. Then pour over the Dew Home-Made Cheese sauce to make a smothered Meat Loaf.
