Just recently Hy-Vee Corporate Headquarters met with John Leskovisek of Dew Chilli Parlor's of America forming a partnership shoppers will certainly will enjoy.

In Illinois, the Visitors bureau has named Dew Chilli a legend and landmark along the famed Route 66.

Now, We want to take a pause and explain something that may be bothering some of you.

WHY ARE THEY MIS-SPELLING CHILLI.

Well we are spelling correctly. Joe Bockelmann, the founder and creator of Dew Chilli and seen here with Illinois Governor Daniel Walker making Chilli, always spelled Chili with 2-L's. Joe said the second "L" stood for love. That and the importance of the Legendary Dew Chilli in Illinois prompted Governor Daniel Walker to issue a special proclamation mandating "Two-L's-In Chilli-Day" in Illinois.

It's has been quite a journey since that day, March 26, 1909, when Dew Chilli Parlor opened for business. The store located at 607 South 11st. Street in Springfield Illinois seen here.

The journey, which started during the days of horse drawn carts to serving what has become America's finest Tavern Style Chilli being offered at major Grocery Store outlets, like Hy-VEE.
