Now you looking to get a little creative and have a meal people are going to talk about for some time?
Well let's make some Dew Cornbread Chilli Bowls. It really is a crowd pleaser, or just a treat for yourself.
First let's get everything you need together.
Diced Red Peppers. I like to use 2 peppers cut them, remove the seeds and dice them up.
Diced Green Peppers. Again, I say get you 2 peppers cut them, remove the seeds and dice them up.
One Large Red onion also diced.
I Garlic Clove Diced.
One or two cans of crushed Tomato's. I like crushed sweet tomatoes
One can of beans. I like bushes beans.
What you need to do is saute the peppers, onions and garlic in a skillet.
You will also need the one Dew Chilli Can. Keep in mind these are large Chilli cans that
by themselves serve 6 by just heating and serving. Take what you want of the chilli, then package the rest of the chilli up and freeze for future use.
Now we need to make the cornbread for the cornbread bowl.
THIS IS SO EXCITING!
Either get an instant mix, or make your own.
Sugar
Melted butter.
Milk .
Eggs.
Flower
Cornmeal
Baking powder
Salt
Make your batter, then pour it all in a round baking dish. Bake until cornbread is done. Again, if you don't have the time to make your cornbread from scratch, just get some cornbread mix follow the instructions and bake it off.
While your cornbread is baking crack open a can of Dew Chilli. Pour want you need into your pan of saute peppers, onions and garlic. Add your cans of crushed tomatoes and beans and stir, stir, stir.
Take your cornbread out of the oven, and then carefully cut out a section, or a well area, in the middle of the bread to pour your Chilli into the cornbread bowl, add some shredded cheddar cheese, top it with Sour cream and add scallions.
THEN DIG IN!
